ICSQC 2017 in Sri Lanka

At Northlands, the mantra on Quality is “Everyday is day one”. This means that we are constantly looking for and introducing educational methods from various sources for our students. ICSQC is held every year in different countries. This year, we were personally invited to the 20th  International Convention on Student Quality Circles from May 13, 2017 to May 19, 2017 by the Honorable Chief Minister of Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka to share our experience in the field of education and quality assurance in education. This convention was held in collaboration with the Sri Lankan Ministry of Education, Informatics and Cultural Affairs and City Montessori School, Lucknow India. With the theme ‘Students’ Quality Circles as an integral part of Total Quality Management in Education’, schools from various countries, such as the United States, U.K, South Africa, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Turkey, India and Mauritius have come together to share their knowledge of each other’s culture and gain important global knowledge and skills to live and work in a global village.

How do we put the concepts of ICSQC into practice?

With the Nine Year Continuous Basic Education in Mauritius, Northlands educators expect to energetically engage in the pursuit of 21st century education and embrace the ever-changing technology. With the introduction of interactive projectors and 3D projections of science activities in Northlands, our baby boomer and generation x teachers are aligning with the teaching method for Generation Z students. Students are trained in a number of activities such as skit competitions, contests, collages and poster contests, case study presentations and student parliament at school to prepare for tomorrow’s global citizenship and to promote multinational cultural transmission by being constantly exposed to international standards. We at Northlands are therefore aiming for the globalization that makes each of our students a Total Quality Person ready for a globally dependent and innovative world.
