Classroom

A class apart is what each class room of Northlands is! It has a modern look and feel with large windows to allow natural light to filter in, thus making the building a green one. It has a design which makes the class attractive, creating a pleasant ambience for students to want to open their minds to the world of learning. It helps to enhance open mindedness. All class rooms are air conditioned and also equipped with fans, helping the students to remain comfortable as they process information to turn it to knowledge.

There are display boards with dedicated space for relevant information: for weekly quizzes, for house and club information and other relevant data. Students of classes 1 and VI have single desks for individual focus on learning. Pupils shift to special classes for Asian languages sessions.

Library

Northlands has a resourceful library with extensive reading materials, internet and other pedagogical resources that has answers to all the questions a curious mind has; may it be about what they see, feel or experience. It can accommodate for 100 students at once.

Multimedia room
The use of images, along with words, diminishes the overwhelming nature of text and helps the student to manage the cognitive load, which increases retention. With the use of the 3-Dimensional television at school, it has brought new life into an ageing curriculum and offers a glimpse of how 21st Century education should be. Teachers are able to regain their students’ attention in lessons by bringing the topic to life through 3D animations, to make the lesson a journey not a lecture. The fun and interesting nature of the third dimension maintains a student’s focus. Many science topics contain complex sequences which can be very difficult for a teacher to explain and a student to get their head around. By showing these concepts visually in a realistic, life like way students gain a deeper understanding extending their knowledge capability. Eventually, there is no greater satisfaction for a teacher than seeing their students confident, satisfied and happy with the lesson and the objectives. The use of 3D gives students higher self-efficacy which in turn also makes the teacher motivated to teach to the best of their ability. Happy students leads to happy teachers.

Dance/Yoga/Mindfulness/Counselling Room

Music, dance and performing arts are the means to express oneself and Northlands provides opportunities to each of its students to perform and to exhibit their inner talent through one of its extravaganza arranged annual function.

Playground/Green Space

Sports play a major role in developing one’s overall persona and keeing that in mind Northlands provides a platform to strengthen their fitness and make them a real sports person. Northlands in order to support it has well planned playground and courts.

Ecotherapy
Incorporating green spaces and community gardens into our architectural designs at school are ultimately creating great places for both students and plant-life to grow! With the plantation of hundreds of endemic and consumable plants, children have become aware of the need of more agriculture in our country. It isn’t surprising that going for a walk through a park or green space will make you feel better. Countless amounts of studies have found that exposure to greenery improves cognitive function, physical health, and overall mental health.
