HISTORY OF SCHOOL

Norhlands Pre-Primary School is one of the first private schools founded in North of Mauritius.

Northlands Pre-primary School formerly known as “Ecole Rouma” was founded in 1987 in Triolet. The company expanded to its primary section in 2010 to a new and modern campus. In December 2017, the Founder Director Mrs. Soonita Ramoo redesigned the multimedia rooms and laboratories and hence expanded the building into an environment more conducive to transversal education.

The vision of Northlands School is to build strong connections with students so they can achieve confidence, values and academic excellence.

MISSION

Our prime aim is to:

  • make our students excel academically
  • encourage our students at a tender age, to take responsibility for themselves and their acts while being respectful of others
  • develop confidence to work with information and ideas, share half-baked ideas with peers
  • make pupils learn to enjoy a healthy, active and balanced lifestyle
  • allow students identify their own ongoing learning needs by becoming effective learners
  • to let students develop cognitive, creative and innovative skills
  • train students to become effective communicators
  • provide opportunities to students to become engaged citizens, participate in community life and address global challenges.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Our school aims at inculcating a sense of belonging to the Mauritian and International Educational Cultures among our students. It is our constant endeavor to imbibe in our students good moral values and discipline. Most importantly, we provide education through modern methods of teaching with the following objectives:

  • All-round personality development
  • Refined manner and character
  • Development of creative and artistic skills through fine Arts, dance, dramatics, mini projects and educational tours. We believe that this provision helps to create happy, confident and engaged learners.
  • Physical development through a variety of sports such as swimming, soccer, cricket, basketball and other forms of activities taught by a professional coach.
  • Physical and mental balance through mindfulness program and yoga
